The 1995 hard top Sebring had a standard DOHC 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder engine, but a Mitsubishi 3.0 V6 would eventually be under the hood after the initial feedback infiltrated the thick walls of confusion in Detroit.

The Sebring coupe was in production for ten years. It was roomy, comfortable ,and for most of those years underpowered until the V6 made an appearance. Sales were poor and future interest was almost non-existent. The coupe was put in the auto making history book in 2005, but the convertible lived to write another story.

The soft top Sebring convertible started as a mid-size two door model with 2.4 4-cylinder engine, but a DOHC 2.0 l, was an option. The most powerful engine is the relatively new 3.5 EGJ V6. The Sebring hit a rag-top nerve across the globe, and it became the best selling convertible in the world from 2001 to 2005. It lost that position due to the fact that the market was suddenly flooded with convertibles, especially retractable hardtop convertibles that had more features and stronger engines.

Chrysler did wake up after experiencing declining sales. They introduced a fully retractable hardtop convertible in 2008. That Sebring featured a great looking body style, a posh interior, and three reworked engines: the 2.3 litre, GEMA 4-cylinder; the 2.7, EER V6, and the 3.5 EEF V6. The 3.5 litre V6 was mated with a new 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2.7 liter V6 engine is capable of running on E85, which is clean burning flex fuel. The Sebring convertible is still a strong competitor.

Chrysler also introduced an export Sebring in 2001 and the company continued to export it through the 2006 model year. Europe, Russia and China got a 2.0 liter DOHC 16-valve inline 4-cylinder, and a 2.7 liter DOHC 24V 6-cylinder with a 5-speed or 4-speed automatic. Sales continue around the globe, but 2010 sales were less than half the sales of the 2007 model year.

The Sebring was replaced by the 2011 Chrysler 200, The 200 has a 2.4 liter straight 4-cylinder under the hood. We sell Sebring engines.
